WoodStraw™ approved by Oregon DOT

December 19, 2007 - In a formal letter, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) acknowledged their acceptance of WoodStraw™ erosion control into their Qualified Products List (QPL), which enables its use on road and highway projects in the state of Oregon. Federal agencies throughout Oregon and most other Western states have been using WoodStraw™ since it became commercially available in 2005. This acceptance for use by ODOT enables the state, county and municipalities in Oregon to purchase and take advantage of the unique benefits of WoodStraw™ for their erosion control projects.

WoodStraw™ website launched

Forest Concepts has launched a product-specific website for its innovative WoodStraw™ wood-strand erosion control material. The demand for our patented WoodStraw™ materials for forest, wildlands, transportation, agricultural and other erosion control projects is growing rapidly, and customers are seeking rapid access to product technical information, application data, and past project case studies. The new site is named www.WoodStraw.com.


Jim Dooley Elected President of ASABE

Dr. James H. (Jim) Dooley PhD, P.E. was elected to be the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers' (ASABE) president for 2008-2009. ASABE is an international technical and scientific organization with more than 9,000 members dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to biological, food, and agricultural systems. Jim Dooley is a co-founder of Forest Concepts and its Chief Technology Officer.
